James Tesch
James' love and interest of music started at a young age when his dad introduced him to the music of Buddy Holly. He was lucky enough to attend the shows of many legendary groups with his dad. From Billy Joel to The Rolling Stones, James was able to bear witness to their spectacular productions. As much as he was drawn to the music, James was always curious how those big productions worked. He often recorded myself playing my toy instruments with my dad’s old portable tape deck.
He took up learning guitar and trumpet as a teen and pursued music all through high school. As an adult however, James entered the retail world. After 15 years, and feeling emotionally drained, He made the decision to revisit what had excited him as a child. He had already gained some experience through volunteering at my church running tech, and producing services for our elementary age kids, as well as playing and recording with a group of friends in a local band. He still wanted to strive for more.

With the full support of his wife and family, James started school full-time at AIMM in the Spring of 2021.

EvanTone Productions
EvanTone Productions was born out of James' very first experience recording my guitar in a studio. He had little idea what he needed to do, or what could be done to get the best result. There was very little in the way of guidance. James wanted to create an environment where new artists not only could receive a quality product, but also learn more about the process without pressure. Pressure and stress stifle the creative process and that can ruin the magic of music.
The name EvanTone comes from James' then two and a half year old son Evan and his constant tinkering with my guitar amps and pedals. After he had touched every knob he could get his hands on, James plugged in and was greeted with the most unique and inspiring guitar tone he had ever heard. His son is a constant source of inspiration and motivation for me to keep following my dream.
